Does the unsightly mess of fast-food containers, plastic bags, beverage cans and bottles, and numerous other litter, creating an eyesore in an otherwise potentially beautiful landscape of our communities, bother you? In honor of Earth Day 2026, I encourage and invite you to be an environmentalist for a day.

The Earth and the Pendleton County environment needs our help! Any age is welcome and we will be picking up litter and also welcoming opinions and ideas on how we can curtail littering in our streets, parks, trails, and waterways. Event supplies will be furnished and you need only bring yourself. Each participant will receive an ORSANCO tee shirt and a pizza lunch will be provided by the Pendleton County 109 Board.

Please join myself and other concerned citizens for a morning of fellowship and environmental awareness on Saturday April 25 at 1405 Hwy 27 N (Godman’s Garage parking) lot from 9:00am until noon. Your attendance would be greatly appreciated in being part of the solution to pollution this Earth Day. Our children and the environment need our awareness and stewardship. My heartfelt thanks in advance.
